Client Testimonials

If you are outside of your warranty period, there is still hope. And that hope is found in Larchmere Imports. While I believe that their specialty are BMW's, the staff have broad knowledge of imports and vehicles in general. They are topnotch! Honestly, unless I have to go to Land Rover I will go nowhere else. John, the president, and Dave, the general manager, run the business like it's supposed to be run...like they want people to tell their friends, and like they want to be around and growing for 100 years.

Land Rover - Go Beyond
The first Land Rover was designed in 1948 in the United Kingdom (on the island of Anglesey off the coast of Wales) by Maurice Wilks, chief designer at the British car company Rover.
The first Land Rover prototype (nicknamed 'Centre Steer') was built on a Jeep chassis. A distinctive feature is their bodies, constructed of a lightweight rustproof proprietary alloy of aluminium and magnesium called Birmabright. This material was used because of the post-war steel shortage and the plentiful supply of post-war aircraft aluminium. This metal's resistance to corrosion was one of the factors that allowed the vehicle to build up a reputation for longevity in the toughest conditions.
It is owned by Indian company Tata Motors, forming part of its Jaguar Land Rover subsidiary. It is the second-oldest four-wheel drive car brand in the world, after Jeep. |
